Golden Age Ministry Team
Shares God’s Word, Show God’s Love and Serves God by ministering to members of the congregation who are homebound, live in nursing homes, assisted living centers and reside at Alzheimer’s & Dementia facilities. During these face-to-face visits, the elderly are given communion and talk about whatever they like. During holidays, the team hands out Easter Baskets and Christmas goodies.
Christmas Caroling to Shut-ins
The choir, youth and older congregants sing holiday-themed songs to elderly congregants living at home or in nearby facilities.
“Most of the people our group visits have Alzheimer’s or Dementia and are confused. So, it was challenging for me at first to give communion to them, yet is very rewarding. The elderly seem to appreciate our visits,” emphasizes 75-year RELC member Charlotte Pfeffer, who chairs the Communion for Shut ins.
